Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

Chocolate Banana Bread is a comforting kitchen staple that’s quick to mix up. As is true with many classics, the only way to improve upon it is to upgrade your ingredients. Use our recipe or substitute Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract and Pure Dark Chocolate into your standby and see how the depth of our vanilla and the bright, fruity flavors of our Single Origin Madagascar Chocolate elevate this by-the-slice basic to “I Must Have Seconds” centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened

  • 2 overripe bananas

  • 2 large eggs

  • 7 tablespoons buttermilk or sour milk (To make sour milk: add 1 teaspoon vinegar to milk and let sit 5 minutes)

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 bars, chopped Beyond Good Pure Dark Chocolate

  • 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease a9×5 or 8×4 loaf pan.

  • Cream butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer (a hand mixer or whisk is okay too!)

  • Add the bananas, eggs, sour milk, and baking soda to a blender. Mix until liquefied.

  • Pour half of the banana mixture into the butter mixture with 1 cup of flour and mix until just combined.

  • Add Pure Vanilla Extract then repeat with the rest of the liquid and flour. Do not overmix!

  • Stir in your chopped Pure Dark ChocolatePour into prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate.

  • Bake approximately 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean

  • Cool at least 10 minutes in pan, then serve!
