WHAT IS HEIRLOOM COCOA?
It is some of earth’s original genetic variety of cocoa that has remained untouched for hundreds of years and is found in only a few places in the world. The Madagascar climate and soil/terroir contribute to a very flavorful and fruity tasting bar of chocolate.
WHAT DOES COCOA PERCENTAGE REFER TO?
The percentage by weight of all the ingredients derived from cocoa within a bar. For us, since we use the whole bean, this means not just the cocoa liquor, but the cocoa solids and cocoa butter.
ARE YOUR CHOCOLATE BARS NON-GMO?
Our bars are made with No GMOs.

WHAT IS “BEAN-TO-BAR”?
Bean-to-bar is a term we use to refer to the fact that we produce the entire bar, from harvest to package. We do not purchase couverture discs or blocks of chocolate that are then melted into our bars like most large scale chocolate producers.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS NUT-FREE?
No. None of our bars contain nuts except for our Salted Almond bar, but we cannot guarantee that we are nut free because our products are made in a factory that uses nuts.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN?
All of our dark chocolate and vanilla products are vegan, but we do process our chocolate on a line that could contain traces of milk. Our bars are suitable for lifestyle vegans, but not for those with dairy allergies.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS GLUTEN FREE?
Our products are free of gluten.
WHAT IS YOUR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING POLICY?
At the moment we are unable to ship individual web orders outside of the United States.
DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?

ARE YOU CERTIFIED AS ORGANIC?
Yes, all of our chocolate bars are USDA certified organic except for Toasted Coconut, which is made with organic ingredients. Our vanilla products are not currently certified organic.
IS THE BAR SUGAR-FREE?
No, we use organic cane sugar, but our bars use less sugar than most to preserve the high quality and taste of our cocoa. The higher the percentage of cocoa, the lower the amount of sugar.
WHAT IS THE ALCOHOL IN YOUR VANILLA EXTRACT MADE FROM?
We use sugar cane alcohol in our vanilla extract.
WHAT IS SUNFLOWER LECITHIN?
Sunflower Lecithin is an emulsifier, which stabilizes the bar and creates a smoother mouth-feel. Most chocolate bars use soy lecithin as an emulsifier, but we wanted to keep all of our products soy-free.
